Choosing your child's school is an important decision. At Ashby C of E we aim to make this process as easy as possible by giving you all the information you will need to help you choose the right school for your child.
This year we will be holding an Open Evening on Tuesday 26th September 2017 at 6.30pm for approximately an hour. During this session our Headteacher will be giving prospective parents a guide to what our school can offer, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. Please see the flyer for more details and ring the school office to book your place.
Parents are also encouraged to contact school and make an appointment for an individual guide round school. This provides an excellent opportunity to see our school in action, visiting all classrooms and plenty of time to ask questions.
We are also running 4 sessions of our phonics and writing programme, Read , Write Inc for prospective parents. These will be taking place in November. Please click here to download the flyer for details. We expect these to be very popular so please ring the school office to book your place.

Ashby Church of England Primary School is situated in the heart of the National Forest in Ashby de la Zouch. We aim, through our core values, to provide all our children with an exciting start to their education in a school which cares, guides, stimulates and supports everyone in our school community. We have high standards of expectation in both work and behaviour which is reflected in our end of Key Stage results and our current Ofsted grading of Good. Our staff and Governors are dedicated in aiming for all of our children to achieve the very best they can in all aspects of their lives.
As a Church of England School we have excellent links with our local church, Holy Trinity and our vicar Rev Tim Phillips. Our Church of England status is at the heart of the caring ethos of our school community, which welcomes everyone regardless of faith.
'The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Ashby Primary as a Church of England school are outstanding. View the SIAMS inspection report in full.
Our school currently has 295 pupils on role which we organise into four teams; Foundation Stage, Year 1 and 2, Year 3 and 4 and Year 5 and 6. Our curriculum is designed to enable our children to see the links between subjects in a practical, fun and relevant way with a focus on basic skills in literacy and maths.
