Welcome to Ashby C of E Parent and Teacher Association (PTA)
We are you! Ordinary mums and dads of children at school who like being involved in the social and fund-raising events which shape part of the school year. Think Christmas Fair, Summer Fair, Fashion Show, Chocolate Bingo…
Essentially we organise and run events to raise money for the children at school.
But that’s not the whole story and sounds far too serious! We like feeling we are part of the school, getting to know other parents with children at school and, most importantly, having a good time doing it.
So where does the money we raise go?
The PTA pays for things not covered by the school budget, but which we think are an essential part of school life. Things like:
Christmas parties and presents
Visits by touring theatres
Reception book bags
We saved for many years for a Peace Garden for children who would like a quiet space away from the main school playground during play time. This exciting project began with clearing of the area during October half term 2016 and the School Council were involved in design ideas. The garden was officially opened during the Summer Fair in June 2017.
